The University of Calcutta does not have one common entrance examination for all undergraduate programmes. The admission process and test pattern vary depending on the course.
For B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. programmes offered through affiliated colleges, admission is generally based on the prescribed eligibility criteria and merit/admission rules rather than a single university-wide UG entrance test. However, certain specialised undergraduate programmes have their own entrance examinations.
For example, admission to the 5-Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B. programmes is conducted through CULET-UG, a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The examination carries 100 marks, has a duration of 2 hours, and follows an objective-type format. Candidates receive 1 mark for each correct answer, with no negative marking

- INR 400 for General/Unreserved candidates and INR 200 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
