- "Must be an Indian citizen. ✔ Must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 / 2nd PUC with required subjects from a recognised board. ✔ For Engineering/Technology: Physics and Mathematics are compulsory, plus one of Chemistry/Biology/Bio-Technology/Computer Science. ✔ Minimum marks: Typically around 45 % for general category candidates (40 % for reserved) in the qualifying exam in the relevant subject group."

- "Offline (pen-and-paper) format. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Three papers: • Physics – 60 questions • Chemistry – 60 questions • Mathematics or Biology – 60 questions Total: 180 marks. Duration: 80 minutes per subject. Marking: 1 mark per correct answer; no negative marking."
